How to find out who owns a property in Jamaica
Every registered parcel of land in Jamaica has a certificate of title held by the National Land Agency (NLA). That title is identified by two numbers — a Volume and a Folio, written together as something like 1234/56. If you know the Volume and Folio, you can identify a property with certainty: not by street name, which several places may share, but by the exact registered parcel.
The problem is finding those numbers in the first place. Most people start with an address, a landmark, or a rough idea of where family land sits — not a Volume and Folio.
